NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:To act under the general direction of the Superintendent of Schools or designee. To direct, coordinate, organize, and perform assigned and related duties dealing with technology.FUNCTIONSInstructional:Oversight of all program innovations as identified by the Superintendent Directs the integration of technology into the school setting.Directs training in technologies appropriate for integration into the instructional processes utilized in the District.Directs staff development in the area of instructional technology.Plans classroom follow-up after initial training.Develops plans to manage facilities and materials necessary to support infusion of technology into the District programs.Directs the selection of hardware and software.Assesses needs of staff in the area of technology infusion and develops programs to meet those needs.Directs and facilitates technology plans at the school and District levels.Directs program evaluations. Management:Develops procedures to assure that appropriate site licensing and copyright requirements are followed to assure District compliance with industry standards.Develops plans for the acquisition, cataloging, distribution, and maintenance of equipment and materials.Directs in the writing of grants to support the infusion of technology into the District at all levels.Identifies and directs community resources to support District technology.Reviews and prepares reports of the school district in compliance with the Universal Access Fund, the State Department of Education, and the F.C.C.Works with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum in supervising and evaluating District technology paraprofessionals and staff development staff.Directs, supervises, and evaluates building technology personnel in the following activities:Management of installation of any server running IP (LAN and WAN), networking, and infrastructureDevelops and coordinates with development of school district policies related to instructional technology and Education Law 2-DOTHER FUNCTIONS:Researches trends and future advances in technology and works to keep District Programs current with changes in field.Develops reports to indicate District progress in the integration of technology into the classroom.Directs the Technology Committee.Assists with screening and interviewing of technology assistance/teachers as requested by building Principal.
