The Greater Amsterdam School District is seeking an anticipated probationary appointment for the following: Secondary Assistant Principal Location: LLA (Middle School) Start Date: 7/1/26 Certification Required: SBL Starting Salary: $91,015.00 (Step 1) The Secondary Assistant Principal will be accountable to the Building Principal or designee and is expected to execute a variety of tasks delegated by the principal, such as general administration, supervision, student relations, and the operation and management of school plans. Qualification Requirements: 1 Master’s degree or higher in education and possession of proper administrative certification. Five (5) years of successful teaching experience with a strong instructional background. One (1) or more years of proven administrative experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability as an experienced instructional leader who has driven positive and necessary changes in educational settings through student academics. Required skills include managing students and programs, communicating effectively, and problem-solving. Must have knowledge of discipline procedures, safety procedures, district policies, special education regulations, and research-based best practices. Must demonstrate competence in collaborating with leadership and staff members.
