The Greater Amsterdam School District is in search of a Student Engagement Specialist for the 2023-24 School Year.Student Engagement SpecialistDistrictJob Summary: Under the supervision of an administrative position, the Student Engagement Specialist (SES) shall support the educational process by providing services to GASD in the investigation and counseling of students and families with excessive attendance and engagement issues. The SES will assist in strengthening the alliance between home and school by working to get students to attend school on a regular basis.The SES will work cooperatively with school administrators, teachers, counselors, support staff, and families to assure compliance with the attendance and engagement policies and rules of the district. The SES supports shall include, but not be limited to: prevention and intervention strategies, monitor student progress, and make referrals to appropriate school and/or community agencies when necessary.Minimum Qualifications: The SES shall:Hold a bachelor’s degree with college-level coursework in human services, child development or related field preferred.Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license, with no serious violations, issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.Have use of a vehicle for transportation.Have fingerprint clearance.Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is preferred, but not required.Please apply on OLAS Jobs by 7/22/2023.
