At Gersh Autism, we are committed to helping individuals on the autism spectrum lead fulfilling, independent lives.Academy for Young Minds (AYM), powered by Gersh, is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to join our team and work in one of our brand new, state-of- the-art classrooms in Long Island City, NY.Job Responsibilities:Provide appropriate and individualized therapy and interventions to studentsCollect data on student’s progressAssess students’ progress to inform continued instructionSupport team with the development of social and language skills of their studentsParticipate in team meetings and professional development activitiesUse Central Reach parent portalDemonstrate professionalism in classroom while adhering to the mission, vision and philosophy of AYM.Prep and clean up therapy space each dayRequirementsNYS License as Speech and Language PathologistNYS TSHH or TSLD CertificationUnderstanding of the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilitiesPROMPT trainedKnowledge of NYS Common Core Standards and RTIExcellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsComputer proficiency (e.g., data base, word processing, etc.)Schedule8AM-3:30PM (and once a week until 4PM for a team meeting)Benefits for Full Time EmployeesGersh Autism offers a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive health and retirement benefits, professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment committed to your personal and professional growth.
