There is an anticipated vacancy for an Assistant Principal at G. Ray Bodley High School beginning July 1, 2024.The assistant principal has primary administrative responsibilities in certain areas (such as student management) and shared responsibilities with the principal in other areas. The principal may assign additional duties to the assistant principal as required.QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State School Building Leadership CertificateTYPICAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Assume primary responsibility for student management and discipline matters, coordinate detention, and follow up with administration, instructional staff, and home contacts. Monitor student eligibility for various activities and initiate appropriate action with respect to eligibility issues. Participate in evaluation processes of instructional and/or non-instructional staff. May assist in the development of remediation plans. Participate in, and/or facilitate a variety of building committees and acts as a liaison with outside organizations, agencies, clubs, etc. Supervise students as necessary during the day in hallways, cafeteria, classrooms, dismissal, as well as after school activities. May supervise or coordinate school-wide activities and programs, as well as extended year, or day, instruction. Assist and/or assume primary responsibility for various communications activities such as student and faculty handbooks, assemblies, open house, report cards, awards ceremonies, faculty meeting. Maintain a visible presence throughout the school and community.
