Eligibility:NYS Certification as a School Psychologist required.Bilingual PreferredReports To:Assistant Superintendent of PPS and Special Education Job Description: Eligible candidates are expected to:- Assess the learning, development, and adjustment needs of students.- Develop appropriate interventions based on identified needs.- Complete comprehensive reports (both written and verbal) as necessary.- Provide student interventions and consultation to parents and staff to enhance students' adjustment and academic progress.- Work as part of a cohesive team focused on educating and guiding students in the least restrictive environment.- Chair and oversee Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and processes.Duties:- Chair District and Out of District CSE and Section 504 meetings.- Conduct evaluations and comprehensive reporting to aid the special education team in crafting individualized student programs. This includes maintaining accurate records and timely report submissions.- Assist in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and aiding in their implementation as needed. - Collaborate closely with the Assistant Superintendent of PPS and Special Education and special education staff to support student academic and social success. - Foster positive relationships with families to support student success.- Actively participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) processes.
