Join the Daler Team! The Farmingdale School District is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual to join our facilities team as a Full-Time Evening Cleaner. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and community. Key Responsibilities As an evening cleaner, you will be responsible for preparing the building for the next school day. Duties include, but are not limited to: Routine Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas. Sanitization: Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, drinking fountains, and high-touch surfaces daily. Waste Management: Emptying trash and recycling bins and disposing of waste safely. Facilities Support: Moving furniture, setting up rooms for special evening events, and replacing light bulbs or completing minor touch-ups. Building Security: Ensuring windows and doors are locked and the building is secure at the conclusion of your shift. Qualifications & Physical Requirements Civil Service Status: This is a Non-Competitive NYS Civil Service position (no written exam required). Experience: Previous commercial cleaning or custodial experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout an 8-hour shift. Reliability: Strong attendance record and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision during the evening hours.
