Instructional Associate – Elementary SchoolThe Farmingdale School District has an opening for an Instructional Associate at the Northside and Woodward Parkway Elementary Schools beginning August 24, 2025. This position will serve both buildings. Reports to: PrincipalAssistant to the Superintendent for AdministrationSupervises: Elementary Building Level TeachersClerical StaffSecurity StaffTeacher Aides and School MonitorsPosition SummaryThe Instructional Associate is a member of the building principal’s cabinet and the district’s administrative council. The Instructional Associate assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to meeting the needs of all students, staff, and parents. The Instructional Associate, in conjunction with their instructional staff, school social worker, school counselor, and school psychologist, will focus on the social and emotional well-being of the elementary school child in a close-knit learning community within the larger Kindergarten to Grade 5 school. This is a 12-month position and is represented by the Farmingdale Association of Administrators and Supervisors.. Essential DutiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited to the Following:Assists in developing and maintaining an effective education program consistent with state and federal guidelines and the philosophy, policies, and goals of the Board of EducationAssists in implementing instructional strategies and RTI while supporting the needs of diverse learnersAssists the principal in the continued growth of the school culture as a results-oriented, collaborative learning communityWorks collaboratively with Pupil Personnel StaffExplain and interpret curriculum and instructional goals and objectives to parents, teachers, and studentsAssists the building principal in handling student disciplinary issues and provides ongoing support for restorative practicesDemonstrated leadership and expertise in staff supervision, staff development, and evaluationsQualificationsNYS Certification (SBL/SDA)Elementary experience preferredA minimum of five years of providing direct instruction or support services to studentsDistrictwide and/or building-level administrative experienceAbility to work with building and district administration on the scheduling of programs and classes Understanding of district-level budgeting processesUnderstanding of learning standards across curricula and grade levelsAbility to evaluate and support instruction and intervention services through the use of student dataUnderstanding of SEL, Mental Wellness regulations, and a PBIS system that integrates with MTSSThorough knowledge of current trends and best practices for providing a comprehensive school programAbility to build relationships to support the organization’s leaders to see the direct connection between equity, academics, and mental wellness.Willingness to work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning communityProvide ongoing opportunities for effective professional developmentIn addition, administrative staff are expected to demonstrate the following:Integrate program opportunities with the core curriculum to provide new pathways for student learningDevelop and nurture a culture of collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectationsDevelop accountability systems that monitor student progress, uncovering patterns and trends to contextualize student achievementUtilize distributed leadership through administrators, teachers, parents, and students, providing opportunities for growth and developmentPlease address all cover letters to: Michael J.
