FRANKLIN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTDLI (Delaware Literary Institute) was founded in 1835 as a private school located on the school's present site. In 1930, DLI became a central school district known as Delaware Literary Institute and Franklin Central School. In 1983, Franklin was placed on the register of National Historic Places. The district currently serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. JOB DETAILSThe Franklin Central School District is seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as our ELA teacher. The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction. Essential duties include developing lesson plans aligned with Next Generation ELA Standards, teach a range of literary and informational texts appropriate to grade levels, genres, and student interests, use evidence-based instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to meet the diverse needs of students, develop, administer, and score assessments (formative and summative) to monitor student progress, create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate, prepare students for the NYS ELA Regents Exam, which is required for graduation, and understand and support the pathways to graduation, including appeals and alternative assessments where applicable.Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, communicating regularly with parents and colleagues, and participation in professional development. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all school and community stakeholders. NYS Certification is required.
