Franklin Central School District Position Opening – Auto Mechanic/Bus Driver (12-Month Position)The Franklin Central School District is seeking a qualified, motivated individual to serve as an Auto Mechanic/Bus Driver. This full-time, 12-month position is responsible for maintaining the district’s fleet of school buses and vehicles in safe operating condition, while also providing transportation for students as needed.Responsibilities Include:Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing school buses and other district vehicles in compliance with NYS Department of Transportation (DOT) standards.Performing preventive maintenance, service checks, and safety inspections.Maintaining accurate service and repair records.Driving school buses on assigned routes and for extracurricular trips when necessary.Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and district policies.Collaborating with the Head Bus Driver to schedule repairs and inspections.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Possession of a valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with “S” and “P” endorsements, or ability to obtain prior to appointment.Experience as a diesel/gasoline mechanic, preferably with heavy vehicles.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must pass required background checks and physical examinations.Salary & Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience and district contract.Benefits include health insurance, retirement system membership, paid leave, and professional development opportunities.Application Procedure: Interested candidates should submit a completed OLAS Application, resume, and three professional references to:Franklin Central School District Attn: Bryan Ayres Superintendent’s Office 26 Institute Street Franklin, NY 13775
