Required Qualifications:Candidates must possess a NYS Special Education Teacher certification.Experience working with young children is preferred.Salary: Per current FPTA contract; level of education and experience will be considered.This position reports to the Building Principal. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students in a Jr. Sr. High School classroom setting.The ideal candidate will:Have a strong understanding of best practices for teaching, learning and assessmentUse developmentally appropriate strategies to promote student engagement with the contentCreate a positive learning environmentPossess strong verbal and written communication skillsBuild positive relationships with colleaguesPromote family engagement whenever possible
