We are seeking a skilled Typist Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong typing skills and attention to detail to assist in data entry and administrative tasks. Position requires candidates to be Nassau County residents. We are a small school district located in Nassau County bordering Queens.Duties:1.Types forms, form letters, bills, vouchers, payrolls, records, catalog cards, reports, index cards, accounts, statements, charts, transcripts, etc.2.Composes and types routine letters.3.Maintains office records and files of some variety and moderate complexity.4.Collects money and posts entries to simple accounts.5.Answers telephone, takes messages, and makes appointments.6.Performs arithmetic computations.7.Acts as receptionist or information clerk.8.Checks and proofreads applications, vouchers, forms, and letters for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with prescribed procedures.9.Opens, sorts, and distributes mail.10.Operates various office machines, including a data-entry terminal keyboard or word processor.Skills:- Proficient in typing with excellent speed and accuracy- Strong organizational skills for file management- Experience in data entry and order entry- Knowledge of administrative tasks- Customer service-oriented approach- Ability to handle confidential information securelyThis position is perfect for individuals with a background in administrative roles, data entry, or customer service. This is a provisional Nassau County Civil Service position, and you will be required to take a Civil Service test.
