Frankfort-Schuyler is seeking a dedicated and skilled School Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail and the ability to perform general maintenance duties.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buildings, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general construction.Clean and maintain school grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and trash disposal.Ensure that classrooms, hallways, and common areas are safe, clean, and properly maintained.Set up and break down furniture for events and activities.Assist with safety inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.Monitor and maintain school equipment and facilities, reporting any issues to the supervisor.Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services when needed.Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in school maintenance or facilities management preferred.Knowledge of general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good physical condition, with the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.Ability to pass a background checkThe district will perform rolling interviews until the position is filled.
