A benefit eligible special education vacancy exists at F-M High School.JOB DESCRIPTION: Teaching Assistants provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Work with individual students or groups of students on instructional projectsProvide the teacher with information about students which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiencesAssist students in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materialsUtilize their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: art, music, family and consumer science, physical education, technology and similar subjectsAssist in related instructional work as requiredAssists with taking students to and from the busOutside and/or cafeteria supervision Assist students with specific health related activities as appropriate, including toileting When working in a Special Education classroom, employees may be required to regularly perform the following tasks:Toileting needsFeeding needsLifting students when neededPushing students in assistive devices (e.g. wheelchairs)Teaching Assistant Certification through NYS Department of Education is required.Certification must be in process or close to completion at the time of interview.In addition to applying on OLASPlease upload resume or submit application.
