Responsible for the ongoing internal commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for students. The partially grant-funded director of student equity (DSE) will lead and support the district in fostering an inclusive community and eliminating school-related causes of disparities in student outcomes. The DSE will actively work with district leadership, building administration, and teaching faculty and staff to actively remove barriers that hinder student success and well-being. The director assesses current practices and supports change related to school climate, social-emotional learning (SEL), professional development, family and community engagement, recruitment and retention of staff, curriculum review, and analysis of school district data, handbooks and documents (including board policies). The ideal candidate is an exceptional collaborator, presenter and communicator who is well organized and able to work across departments and with staff at all levels within the district.
