Position Overview: Fabius-Pompey Central School District is seeking a dynamic, creative, and student-centered Art Teacher for grades 6–12 for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages artistic exploration, creativity, and critical thinking among a diverse population of learners. Responsibilities: Develop and implement engaging, standards-based art curriculum for middle and high school students Teach a variety of visual art courses, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital/media arts Incorporate art history and contemporary artistic practices into instruction Utilize a range of instructional strategies, including project-based and choice-based learning Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback Maintain a safe, organized, and supportive studio environment Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide initiatives Organize and support student exhibitions, showcases, and art-related events Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff Qualifications: Valid New York State Certification in Art Education (or eligibility) Strong knowledge of visual arts techniques, media, and art history Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into the art curriculum Excellent classroom management and communication skills Commitment to equity, inclusion, and fostering a supportive classroom culture Preferred Qualifications: Experience with digital art platforms and tools Background in interdisciplinary or cross-curricular collaboration Experience supporting student portfolios and advanced coursework Compensation: Salary and benefits in accordance with the Fabius-Pompey Central School District collective bargaining agreement.
