ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL OPENING District Office - Treasurer Anticipated Start Date: September 2026 Position Summary: The Treasurer serves as the chief custodian of district funds while providing leadership and support in the administration of the school district's business operations. The position is responsible for safeguarding district assets, managing cash flow and investments, ensuring compliance with New York State Education Law, assisting in budget development and financial reporting, and supporting all aspects of business office operations. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years public school business office experience preferred NYS Certification SDBL or NYS CPA Knowledge of GASB accounting standards and governmental accounting principles Attributes of a collaborative team player, resourceful, self-starter with strong communication skills Duties: Serve as District’s Purchasing Agent & supervise accounts payable operations Supervise business office functions and staff Act as liaison for external, internal, and regulatory auditors Prepare state required reporting: ST-3, grant reporting, capital project reporting, ESSA transparency reporting, maintenance of effort etc. Prepare, maintain and provide financial reporting of monthly financial activities for Board of Education and Board Committees - including actuals and projections of cash flow, revenues, expenditures & fund balances Oversee & manage general ledger accounting activities and reporting Assist with TAN, BAN or BOND borrowings on an as needed basis Assist with all facets of budget preparation and the annual budget vote Assist with security, registration, benefits, and transportation as required Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent Interviews will be ongoing until the position is filled.
