ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL OPENING SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER PROBATIONARY POSITION Effective: 2026-2027 School Year Qualifications: New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education (K-12, 1-6 or 7-12) AND NYS Board Certified Behavioral Analyst Responsibilities: - Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments, develop Behavior Intervention Plans, and provide training and ongoing support to teachers and teaching assistants responsible for the implementation of BIPs. - Monitor and ensure the accurate implementation of intervention plans and appropriate use of behavioral strategies. - Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for students and use professional knowledge and independent judgment to strategize continuous improvements. - Participate in Committee on Special Education meetings, presenting data, reports, and contribute knowledge and expertise around behavioral support. - Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic record keeping (session notes, data sheets, etc.) - Provide staff development, training, and modeling for team members - Provide consultation and training to parents and/or guardians as outlined in IEPs. - Provide consultation regarding crisis interventions and critical incident supports; complete incident reports as needed. - Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, team meetings and program visitations; remain a lifelong learner.
