ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL OPENING Leave Replacement Elementary Classroom Teacher2025-2026 School Year Start Date:August 27, 2025 Job DescriptionThe East Williston School District seeks a probationary elementary classroom teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. It is anticipated that the position will be for our North Side School, grades K-4. Required Qualifications Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) Key Responsibilities and Preferred Skills Develops and teaches grade-level curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that translate into engaging learning experiences for all students Understands the essential components of MTSS and proactively utilizes data to inform instruction Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students' needs, including students with special needs and English Language Learners Strong understanding of how to leverage instructional technology to enhance student learning Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student achievement and attendance as required by district procedures Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents Coordinates with other staff members, especially within grade level and specific subjects, to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programsHow to ApplyPlease apply, including a job-specific cover letter and resume, on OLAS by Sunday, July 13th:Edward KemnitzerAssistant Superintendent for Instruction and Personnel11 Bacon RoadOld Westbury, NY 11568
