Director of K-12 Science Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Curriculum Related Responsibilities: Oversees the overall function and delivery of ESM’s K-12 Science Curriculum with an emphasis on vertical and horizontal articulation within, and between all grade levels. Thorough understanding of NYSED P-12 Science Standards and ability to support implementation K-12.Conduct Annual Needs Assessment in Collaboration with Administration and Faculty and Staff to determine short and long term goals for K-12 Science curriculum. Provide K-12 Staff Development aligned with Instructional Best Practices in the field of Science Education.Assists in the development and implementation of appropriate assessments to provide data on student achievement (including benchmark assessments and interventions).Supervision Related Responsibilities:Supervises the implementation of the K-12 Science curriculum through formal and informal teacher observation, evaluation, and coordination of professional development. Determines, plans, and/or implements professional development, in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction to promote district vision, goals, and initiatives. Assists in the recruitment, screening, and hiring of professional staff members within the K-12 Science curriculum.Managerial Related Responsibilities:Assists with organizing and implementation of New York State Science Assessments K-12.Coordinates the selection and ordering of materials and supplies for the department.Compensation: As per Administrator's Contract Start Date: August 25, 2022Posting End Date: July 25, 2022
