POSITION: Associate Superintendent for Human Resources (Visit Announcement of Vacancy for advertisement and job description) SITE/BUILDING: James Hines Administration Center, Patchogue, New York KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee strategic direction, executive leadership, and daily HR operations. Evaluate and implement scalable systems to align with evolving organizational needs. Collaborate with Business Services to ensure efficient employee compensation. Cultivate an empowering, welcoming, and equitable workplace culture while advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Direct collective bargaining for nine bargaining units and ensure compliance with labor, education, and Civil Service laws. Analyze qualitative and quantitative HR data to evaluate programs and track progress. Design targeted recruitment and onboarding strategies for instructional, administrative, and support staff using modern Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and digital platforms. Advise administrators on complex personnel matters, lead sensitive investigations, and present policy recommendations to the Board of Education. QUALIFICATIONS Certification: New York State SDA/SDL Certification required Experience: Minimum of three years as a Human Resource administrator Core Competencies: Demonstrated understanding of the interrelationship between Human Resources processes and Business Services to drive payroll accuracy and operational efficiency. Track record of expanding, optimizing, and modernizing HR operational structures and systems. Proven success in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within complex organizational structures. Strong background in employee relations, contract negotiations, and Civil Service regulations. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Uncompromising integrity, credibility, and strict adherence to maintaining confidential information. Comprehensive working knowledge of New York State Education Law, Civil Service rules, Title IX, ADA, FMLA, and APPR evaluation frameworks. Extensive experience with employee management and supervision. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Recognized HR certification from: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or HR Certifications Institute (HRCI) Knowledge of the SchoolFront, WinCap, and Frontline platforms Specialized training, micro-credentials, or certificates in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ANTICIPATED START DATE: November 19, 2026 MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $245,000 Studies show that women and members of some groups are more likely to underestimate their qualifications for a position.
