POSITION: Science Teacher/Academic Integration Specialist – Anticipated (FT - 10 Month) (Previous applicants still under consideration and need not reapply) SITE/BUILDING: Various locations throughout Suffolk County ASSIGNMENT: Department of Career, Technical and Adult Education QUALIFICATIONS:NYS Science 7-12 Certification (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics)Dual or multiple certification preferred (in other content areas and/or SWD, ESOL, or Bilingual)Minimum 3 years of teaching experienceDeep knowledge of content area standards and skills applicationsExperience in instructional coaching role and/or delivering professional development RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary function of this position is to support the delivery of high-quality science instruction within secondary career and technical education programs that offer students the ability to earn science credit. This support is provided via collaboration with CTE instructors, including co-teaching, collaborative planning, and instructional coaching.The successful candidate will also support CTE programs by periodically delivering in-service professional development to fellow instructors and reviewing and updating the science standards indicated in curriculum maps and developing related supporting science integration charts.
