POSITION: Assistant Principals – Anticipated (FT-12 month)ESBOCES is looking for experienced leaders who value diversity, equity and inclusion, and who has experience navigating multiple constituents, agencies and audiences to run successful programming in support of adult learners. This critical position reports to the Principal of the school building, and serves as a leader within the department, agency and the region to promote the development and delivery of special education services.ASSIGNMENT: Department of Special EducationQUALIFICATIONS:NYS SDA or SAS/SBL CertificationStrong communication/interpersonal skillsExperience with students with special needsDemonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environmentRESPONSIBILITIES:Actively promote diversity, equity and inclusion practices throughout the agencyContinuously engage with a myriad of professional development and self-improvement practicesAssist Principal with all operations of the school buildingWork as part of the leadership team to create a warm, welcoming, and affirming work environmentConduct observations and evaluations for all staffBuild trusting relationships with staff and studentsAssist in resolving student disciplinary issuesAssist with the health and safety of the building operationsCollaborate with Principal on needed professional development for all staffServe as a resource in curriculum, assessment, and instructionWork with component school districts in planning for our students and attend CSE meetingsMaintain an active Crisis Prevention Intervention certification and provide needed training to staffCreate, share, and role model the mission and vision of the agencyDemonstrate an unwavering commitment to high achievement, social-emotional, and whole child development of all studentsSALARY: $135,461START DATE: July 1, 2025Studies show that women and members of some groups are more likely to underestimate their qualifications for a position.
