POSITION: Divisional Administrator for Special Education (FT-12 month) ESBOCES is looking for an experienced educational leader who values diversity, equity and inclusion; who has experience working with multiple constituents, agencies and districts; and who is positioned to run successful programming in support of all learners. This critical position serves as a leader within the department, agency and the region to promote the development and delivery of special education services. The Divisional Administrator for Special Education reports directly to the Director for Special Education. ASSIGNMENT: Instructional Support Center @ Sequoya, Holtsville, NY QUALIFICATIONS: NYS SDA or SDL CertificationExperience with students with special needsKnowledge of Part 200 RegulationsKnowledge and experience with Next Generation Standards, curriculum, instruction and assessmentsKnowledge of state reporting including but not limited to Level 0, Civil Rights Data Collection, and APPRMinimum (3) three years of administrative experienceDemonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment with strong communication/interpersonal skills RESPONSIBILITIES:Actively promote diversity, equity and inclusion practices throughout the agency by creating a warm, welcoming and affirming work environmentCreate, share and role model the mission and vision of the agency and Special Education DepartmentLead and supervise a diverse staff while building trusting relationships with staff and studentsSupervise and direct school operations in accordance with Board policies and regulationsProvide strong collaborative leadership with an honest, transparent and inclusive style that supports high student outcomes and educational excellenceProvide comprehensive support to building leadership in all aspects of school operations, including but not limited to building coverage, crisis response, Board policies and RegulationsComply with all APPR requirements and collective bargaining agreements, completing observations and evaluations, as well as data collection for state reportingCoaching and developing of staff to determine strengths and offset weaknessesObtain and maintain certification as a Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) trainer, providing leadership in crisis prevention and delivering ongoing training and support to all staff in alignment with best practices for safety and de-escalationDemonstrate an unwavering commitment to high achievement, social-emotional and whole child development of all studentsDevelop and carryout action plans related to Strategic Planning including data collection and progress monitoring of strategic goalsOversee the collection, organization, and analysis of data for state reporting, ensuring compliance with formatting standards and submission deadlinesProvide leadership in overseeing curriculum development and implementation, managing departmental curriculum budgets and expenditures, assessing department instructional needs, and strategically allocates curriculum funds to support teaching and learning goalsAssess and refine curriculum to ensure alignment with state and federal standards, educational best practices, and the diverse needs of studentsLead the coordination and administration of NYS Regents exams, NYS grades 3-8 assessments, and the NYSESLAT, ensuring accuracy, security, and data integrity in accordance with state regulationsHire and/or assist in securing a diverse workforce START DATE: July 1, 2025 SALARY: $168,142.00 Studies show that women and members of some groups are more likely to underestimate their qualifications for a position.
