Regional Bilingual Education Resource NetworkBUILDING: Islip Office Center (IOC)QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certification with Bilingual Extension or NYS ESOL Certification requiredProficiency in Spanish or another language preferredHold a Master’s degree or above in a related fieldA minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the field of bilingual education and/or English as a New LanguageWorking knowledge of both federal and NYS regulations concerning the education of ELLs, including accountability measures, research, and program modelsStaff development experience preferredDemonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environmentRESPONSIBILITIES:Provide specialized assistance to all Long Island school districts regarding NYSED Commissioners’ Regulations as they pertain to English Language Learners (ELLsDesign and deliver professional development and embedded coaching in instructional strategies for ELLs, culturally responsive instruction, and other topics as identified in the RBERN contract and through the Regional Planning ProcessParticipate in state and local school improvement initiatives and consultations targeted toward the academic achievements of ELLsAssist in carrying out all aspects of the Long Island RBERN operations and activities including but not limited to: coordinated monitoring, organizing large scale professional development and collaborating with regional network partnersSome overnight and regional travel requiredSummer per diem work required (10 days)SALARY: per BEES contract START DATE: September 1, 2022
