The successful candidate will be working at both Centre and Rhame Avenue elementary schools. The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Physical Education (Initial, Professional) or equivalent. Health Education a plus. Experience: We welcome applications from individuals at all levels of experience. Experience teaching at the elementary level is preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities: Knowledge of New York State Physical Education Standards Work collaboratively with colleagues to assist with implementing engaging lessons K-12 Ability to foster student growth by utilizing positive, specific, and corrective feedback Assist with classes to ensure students feel safe, supported, and challenged at their appropriate level Assist with classes to ensure sportsmanship and character development are integrated into classes Assist with classes to ensure differentiated instruction is used for student success at all ability levels Willingness to be a part of the athletics department (Coaching and/or Supervision) The East Rockaway School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which is established in the East Rockaway Teacher’s Association Contract for the 2026-27 school year.
