The district is seeking a motivated individual who meets the following qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification: Chemistry 7-12 Certificate (Initial, Professional) or equivalent. Experience: We welcome applications from individuals at all levels of experience. The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualities: Knowledge of New York State Science Learning Standards Content knowledge of science coursework, with a strong preference for Chemistry Understanding of effective classroom management techniques Willingness to participate in extra-curricular activities The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, which are subject to change: Teach four to five class periods throughout the school day, which may vary based on the need for lab periods Additional responsibilities include a daily professional duty period The East Rockaway School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which is established in the East Rockaway Teacher’s Association Contract for the 2024-25 school year.
