Successful candidates should meet the following qualifications: Experience recruiting and retaining Band studentsExperience teaching at the elementary/beginning instrumentalist level preferredExperience working with students with special needs (Inclusion) preferredStrong knowledge of technology and its integration into the music classroom preferredAbility to deliver high quality instruction in both large ensemble and instrumental lesson settingsExperience scheduling pull-out lessons desirableFamiliarity with preparing soloists and ensembles for NYSSMA adjudicationFamiliarity with a variety of recommended instructional practicesWillingness to participate in extracurricular activitiesApplicants should be prepared to audition on their major instrumentPosition responsibilities: Band and instrumental lessons in two elementary buildings.
