Position Title: Special Education/Science Teacher (Biology/Living Environment)Location: Ramapo High School District: East Ramapo Central School DistrictJob Type: Full-time Application Deadline: Until Postion is FilledStart Date: ImmediatelyPosition Overview: East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Special Education/Science Teacher with a specialization in Biology/Living Environment for Ramapo High School. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities, while delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in Biology/Living Environment.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in accordance with state and federal regulations.Provide differentiated instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students with disabilities in a co-teaching or self-contained environment.Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the New York State Learning Standards in Biology/Living Environment.Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and administrators.Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure students' academic and social-emotional success.Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with best practices in special education and science instruction.Foster a supportive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.Qualifications:New York State Certification in Special Education and Biology (7-12), or eligibility for such certification.Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably at the high school level.Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, IEP implementation, and data-driven instruction.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with other educators and support personnel.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience teaching Biology/Living Environment.Familiarity with co-teaching models and inclusive education practices.Experience working in a culturally diverse school setting.Compensation & Benefits:East Ramapo Central School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package in accordance with the district’s teacher contract.Application Process:Interested candidates should submit the following materials via Olasjobs.org:A cover letterCurrent resumeCopies of relevant certificationsContact information for two professional referencesEast Ramapo Central School District is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
