Coordinator of Universal Pre-Kindergarten Qualifications: The candidate should have a: New York State School District Administrator certificateA minimum of one year of experience supervising staff in a childcare program or a related field of work The candidate should have a minimum qualification of either:New York State Certification Birth-Grade 2New York State Certification N-6New York State Certification Special Education Birth-Grade 2New York State Special Education N-12 Job Description The individual will work collaboratively with the Universal Pre-Kindergarten team. The individual must be well versed in instructional research-based strategies in early childhood teaching and learning, New York State Learning Standards for early learning, and be familiar with New York State OCFS Regulations, New York State Office of Early Learning Regulations, and New York State Education Department Regulations. Being able to work independently and be accountable for work assignments is a must. Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain productive, respectful, and culturally appropriate professional relationships with UPK teachers and administrators at all contracting community-based organizations (CBOs)Conducts on-site visits during the school year to each contracting prekindergarten CBO, provide verbal and written feedback, technical assistance, and program improvement strategies to the teachers, director, and other necessary stakeholders.Acts as a liaison between the State Education Department (Office of Early Learning) and East Ramapo Central Schools. Updates and submits FS10 and FS10-A for multiple prekindergarten grants.Updates and submits various reports and surveys on the Office for Early Learning Business Portal for multiple prekindergarten grants.Oversees the collection, organization, and maintenance of all UPK data, including the Student Information Repository System for 2,400 UPK students.Facilitates professional development that is aligned with the New York State Education Department's recommended criteria for all prekindergarten administrators and staff. Provide input in developing systems to verify that all applicable administrators have required certifications and attend a minimum of two workshops and/or in-service training each year. Assist CBOs in understanding and administering required assessments throughout the year, such as the Brigance and the Teaching Strategies Gold assessments. Provide technical assistance with classroom learning environments and curriculum implementation to promote personal and academic growth for Pre-K students.Monitor formative assessment reports pertaining to individual student growth and program accountability.Give support and guidance to Pre-K staff and administrators in facilitating ECERS-R.Contribute to writing all prekindergarten grant proposals and to completing any reporting requirements within the deadlines for such reporting requirements.Ensure that each contracting CBO’s site insurance is approved and that all required documentation (e.g., Certificate of Occupancy, Fire Safety Certificates, personnel documentation) is valid and up-to-date. Updates and revises application templates, contract templates, website, and necessary communications for various stakeholders.Work collaboratively with East Ramapo Central School District personnel to facilitate transition meetings between prekindergarten and kindergarten programs to ensure success and vertical alignment.Engage in other duties as assigned by the Pre-K Director and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
