Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionEast Ramapo Central School District QUALIFICATIONS:Valid New York State Certification as School District LeaderAt least five years of successful teaching experience at the secondary levelAt least five years of successful building level administrative experience REPORTS TO: Superintendent of SchoolsRESPONSIBILITES:The responsibility of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction is to assume the leadership role in the administration and organization of the instructional program of the school district (all grades). Within this responsibility, the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction will:Develop and implement districtwide curriculum development projects and innovative instructional programs, including the necessary materials.Develop and implement a districtwide program to assess student learning.Ensure proper administration, scoring and reporting of all NYS assessments.Implement professional development programs to meet the goals of the district’s Professional Development Plan.Analyze and disseminate educational research pertinent to the district’s instructional programs.Identify grant opportunities appropriate to the district’s instructional goals and assessment programs.Devise plans for consistent and comprehensive curricular improvement procedures for all learning areas.Coordinate the development and implementation of in-service programs for the instructional staff.Interpret instructional programs to the community.Assume responsibility for the continued appraisal and improvement of methods, procedures and outcomes of the instructional program.Coordinate budget development as it relates to the district’s instructional program and staffing. Carry out all other duties as designated by the Superintendent of Schools.Salary regionally competititve.
