Director of Student Programs, Assessment, and EvaluationDirect Supervisor: Assistant Superintendent of Student Programs, Assessment, and Evaluation Experience:At least five years successful teaching experience of Multilingual Learners grades K-12.Experience in the development, preparation, and presentation of professional development with a focus on data driven instruction and scaffolds to support all learners.Strong knowledge of the development and implementation of curriculum and language acquisition supports that align to the district’s Strategic Academic Goals and New York State Part 154 Requirements (units of study for ELLS, collaborative models of co-teaching and scaffolds for ELLS).Experience in administration of NYSESLAT, World Language Checkpoint A and B exams testing and the ELL Identification processBilingual (Spanish) preferredTESOL and/or Bilingual Ext certification preferredSecondary (grades 7-12) teaching experience preferredEducation/ Certification:Valid NYS District certificate required (SDL)Major Responsibilities and Duties:Collaborate with District Administrators and Principals to design and provide professional development focused on supporting Multilingual Learners Work with teachers and principals to analyze student data, diagnose student instructional strengths & weaknesses and identify research based instructional scaffolds and strategies to support their academic and linguistic growthProvide job-embedded professional development for teachers through modeling of standards-based teaching and scaffolds for English Language Learners Conduct teacher observations and classroom walk throughs and provide feedback that facilitates teacher reflection and growth.Coordinate and lead the Seal of Biliteracy Program by recruiting advisors to support students with their projects as well as submit data to the New York State Education Department’s Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages Supervise and support with the registration of new students as well as the ELL intake process, Kindergarten Screening, and student placement.Collaborate with building administrators regarding scheduling of ELLs grades K-12 based on NYSED Part 154 Requirements.Interview potential teaching candidates
