SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERDISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position involves responsibility for providing professional social work services to students and their families in school to aide them in coping with social and emotional problems. An employee in this position serves as a member of an inter-disciplinary team involving principals, teachers, nurses and other health professionals in identifying needs and in formulating and implementing the restorative potential of students. The work is performed within prescribed guidelines with leeway permitted in determining the scope of social work services to be provided in helping students adjust to their psycho-social condition and to the environment of the school concerned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:CERTIFICATION and QUALIFICATIONS: Must have current NYS School Social Worker certificationMust be able to work with a diverse populationMust be knowledgeable regarding community resources and how to accessMust be able to support building faculty and administration regarding student issuesMust be familiar with District Wide CSE process WORK YEAR: 10 month - Commensurate with section 5.11 (a) and (b) of the collective bargaining agreement between the ETA and District
