The East Meadow School District is seeking candidates who possess NYS certification in Social Studies 7-12 for an anticipated position for the 2026/2027 school year. The successful candidate will: Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned to the NYS Social Studies Framework Incorporate literacy strategies to support reading, writing, speaking, and listening in social studies Design inquiry-driven lessons that promote critical thinking, analysis, and discussion Integrate primary and secondary sources to deepen student understanding Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities Create formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, common assessments, rubrics, and interdisciplinary initiatives Qualified candidates can submit their resume, letter of interest and proof of certification through OLAS. *Position is contingent upon passage of the school budget.
