Location: Harley Avenue Primary School (Grades K-2)Effective: Anticipated September 2025Description: The Elwood UFSD is seeking a highly qualified/certified Special Education teacher for a full-time position (1.0 FTE) at the elementary school level.The candidate must have experience working with special education students with varying disabilitiesRecent experience working with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities Experience with students who have significant learning and behavioral challengesPossess strong classroom management skills, including managing classroom staff members and behavior management techniquesKnowledge of programming and implementing AAC devices Knowledge/experience writing IEPs Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of studentsApplicant must have a repertoire of evidence-based instructional strategiesSCIP or CPI training preferredCandidate should have good interpersonal, written/oral communication, and organizational skills Requirements: Current NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities B-2 and 1-6.
