Position Overview: This position supports the communication needs of students from Pre-K through Grade 6, ensuring that each child has access to the language and communication skills necessary to succeed in the academic environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to provide targeted interventions that align with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Duties include, but are not limited to: • Provide speech and language therapy services to students in both push-in and pull-out models. • Conduct initial and re-evaluation assessments using standardized tools and informal measures. • Develop individualized goals and treatment plans based on student needs and IEP mandates. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services delivered. • Participate in Committee on Special Education (PCSE/CSE) meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences. • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to integrate speech and language strategies into classroom instruction. • Serve as a resource for parents and staff regarding communication development and disorders. • Implement evidence-based practices and remain current with NYSED regulations and best practices in speech-language pathology. • Support inclusive practices that promote student independence, access, and participation. Qualifications: • Required: New York State Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities • Preferred: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) • Experience working in school settings, particularly with early childhood and elementary-aged students • Knowledge of IEP development, data collection, and special education regulations • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills • Commitment to equity, diversity, and the academic success of all learners
