Position Summary The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated English as a New Language (ENL) Teacher. The successful candidate will provide essential language instruction to help students achieve English proficiency and meet grade-level academic standards. Key Responsibilities Direct Instruction: Provide targeted ENL instruction to small groups or individuals, focusing on the four essential communication skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Curriculum Implementation: Implement the district’s language acquisition curriculum and adapt instructional materials to ensure students can access core subject content. Student Assessment: Administer required state diagnostic and proficiency assessments to determine student goals and track academic progress. Classroom Management: Maintain an orderly and productive learning environment conducive to high academic achievement. Collaboration: Work with classroom teachers to provide integrated support and ensure that ENL strategies are utilized across academic subjects. Compliance: Maintain accurate student records and participate in necessary meetings to discuss student performance and instructional needs.
