ANTICIPATED POSTING SPECIFIC DUTIES: Support the vision and mission of district and building leaders Collaborate with building and district leaders in matters of curriculum and instruction Oversee the implementation of new literacy curriculum and future implementation of new Math, Science, Social Studies, and/or SEL curriculum, including the following: Becoming the program expert on the instructional materials, practices, routines, and strategies of the new curriculum Assessing teacher understanding of these instructional materials, practices, routines, and strategies, with an emphasis on the workshop model and differentiated grouping Assessing teacher implementation of new curriculum Supporting professional development from the curriculum publisher Supporting scheduling to accommodate new curriculum, including time for teacher professional development and collaboration Facilitating the collaboration of classroom, AIS, ENL, speech, and resource room teachers in implementing the new curriculum 1:1 coaching and in-class modeling to build on teacher understanding and practice, with an emphasis on the workshop model and differentiated grouping Provide professional development in NYSED standards: Next Generation ELA Next Generation Math Social Emotional Benchmarks Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education Framework Designing opportunities for teacher mentorship and inter-visitation among classrooms to elevate best practice Conduct teacher evaluations using the Danielson rubric and provide strength-based professional feedback Oversee the collection and analysis of student data, including the following: Supporting Fountas and Pinnell benchmark assessment and IXL diagnostics 3x a year Providing professional development to teachers in how to use data to drive instruction Leading data teams to interpret student data and make recommendations Oversee the maintenance and continued development of a high-interest, culturally diverse leveled book room for small group guided reading Coordinate with the school librarian to provide students with high-interest, culturally diverse books for independent reading Support integration of literacy with social-emotional learning and culturally responsive instruction Any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent or designee Qualifications: Candidates must posses the following: NYS Certification as a School Building Leader Experience in an elementary school setting Knowledge of state and federal education laws Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment
