SPECIFIC DUTIES : The person in this leadership position is responsible to the school-site principal for the implementation and continued functioning of the complete academic and non-academic programs of the school that requires functions of managing, planning, and directing. Prepare daily attendance data. Disciplines students with illegal absences Ensures that student attendance data are computerized correctly and up-to-date. Prepares student attendance reports. Processes teacher student referrals. Disciplines students with teacher referrals promptly and equitably. Informs parents of teacher discipline referrals. Prepares teacher discipline referral reports. Attends student functions. Attends faculty meetings. Attends Board of Education meetings as required. Attends academic, CSE, and other meetings. Directs after school activities. Advocates for students’ needs. Assists in the development of the student master schedule. Monitors students’ overall performance. Directs student testing. Works with the teaching faculty to ensure quality teaching through classroom evaluation both summative and formative. Identifies, organizes, and coordinates human and material resources. Evaluates programs and makes appropriate recommendations. Follows Board of Education Policy. Performs other related duties as assigned by the school-site principal. Qualifications: Candidates must posses the following: NYS Certification as a School Building Leader Experience in an elementary school setting Knowledge of state and federal education laws Effective written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team environment
