POSITION TITLE: Junior/Senior High School Instructional SupervisorBARGAINING UNIT: ECASAREPORTS TO: Deputy SuperintendentWORK SCHEDULE: 12 monthQUALIFICATIONS: Certification SBL or SASJOB SUMMARY: The Junior/Senior High School Instructional Supervisor oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs for Grades 7-12. Absent extenuating circumstances, the Instruction Supervisor will not be working directly with students and families. This role involves providing leadership and support to teachers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education, and fostering a positive learning environment. The Instructional Supervisor collaborates with administrators and teachers to enhance instructional practices and student achievement. This position reports to the Deputy Superintendent. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional Leadership:Support the vision and mission of district and building leaders.Collaborate with building and district leaders in matters of curriculum and instruction.Ensure alignment of curriculum with state standards and district goals.Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies.Any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Teacher Support and Development:Evaluate teachers following the District’s APPR Plan. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback to teachers to improve teaching practices.Organize and conduct professional development sessions for teachers to enhance their instructional skills and knowledge.Designing opportunities for teacher mentorship and inter-visitation among classrooms to elevate best practiceSupport teachers in the use of data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.Curriculum Development and Evaluation:Facilitate time for completion and review of course curriculum maps. Collaborate with teachers to develop and review curriculum materials and resources.Ensure the integration of technology and innovative practices into the curriculum.Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and make recommendations for improvement.Assessment and Data Analysis:Oversee the administration of state, district, and department-wide assessments.Analyze assessment data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.Use data to guide instructional decisions and to develop targeted interventions for students.Oversee the collection and analysis of student data for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Academic Intervention Services (AIS), including the following:Supporting universal screening, diagnostic assessments, and progress monitoring.Providing professional development to teachers in how to use data to drive instruction.Leading data teams to interpret student data and make recommendations.Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with school principals, teachers, and other district administrators to support instructional goals.Facilitate regular meetings with teachers to discuss instructional strategies, curriculum updates, and student progress.Communicate effectively with parents and the community about instructional programs and student achievement.Student Support:Work with teachers and counselors to develop strategies for supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.Ensure that all students have access to high-quality instruction and resources.Strategic Planning and Improvement:Collaborate on the development and implementation of strategic planning for the continuous improvement of instructional programs.Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in education.Set measurable goals and objectives for the instructional program and monitor progress.Qualifications:State certification as School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor(SAS)Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, preferably at the junior/senior high school level.Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
