Elementary Education Teacher - Grade 5 Departmentalized Classroom - ELA, Leave Replacement Early March - Late April Anne Hutchinson School The Eastchester School District is seeking a qualified experienced educator to fill a leave replacement vacancy of Elementary Education Teacher, Grade 5 - Departmentalized - ELA Teacher at Anne Hutchinson School. An ideal candidate will have experience as a Grade 5 ELA Teacher with a strong background in literacy and writing. This departmentalized role focuses on providing high-quality English Language Arts instruction, including reading, writing and word study, to fifth-grade students, fostering strong reading comprehension, critical thinking, and writing skills. A successful candidate can: Design and deliver engaging ELA lessons aligned with state and school curriculum standards Foster a love for reading and writing through dynamic instruction and differentiated learning strategies Implement best practices in literacy instruction, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary development, comprehension, and writing process techniques Guide students in developing strong writing skills across various genres, including narrative, persuasive, and informational writing Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress and tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance literacy instruction Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and families to support student success Maintain a structured yet creative classroom environment that promotes engagement and academic growth Requirements: NYS certification: Dual Certification Elementary Childhood Education and Literacy preferred NYSED Fingerprint Clearance* Employment Terms: Leave replacement - Early March-May Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,620 - $79,759, 1/200th of step placement contingent upon prior related experience. *Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
