Special Education Teacher/Reading Specialist (Elementary), Probationary2025-20262 Vacancies The Eastchester Union Free School District is seeking experienced Special Education Teacher/Reading Specialists to fill probationary vacancies in the Anne Hutchinson and Greenvale Schools. The Special Education Teacher/Reading Specialist will support student success by addressing individual reading needs through research-based, multisensory interventions. Ideal candidates will have expertise in literacy instruction, including strategies to strengthen reading comprehension, phonemic awareness, fluency, and vocabulary development for elementary students. Responsibilities include collaborating with MTSS teams, and administrators to monitor student progress and ensure appropriate support is in place to meet the needs of special education students. Candidates should also be skilled in administering standardized academic assessments.Requirements: NYS certification: Reading/Literacy (Birth-6th grade)NYS certification in Special EducationNYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, full time probationary positionsSalary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $62,620 - $86,668, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Internal transfers will maintain their step and salary placement.*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
