Qualifications:Ability to work effectively with elementary school age children with special needs;Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff;Ability to take oral and written directives;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Requirements:NYSED Fingerprint Clearance;Experience working with children in a classroom or comparable setting. Employment Terms: Days: 186 days per school yearHours: 8:15 AM - 3:15 PM, 30 or 40 min lunch (AH & GVL); 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, 30 or 40 min lunch (WVL)Salary: $20 per hourPrerequisite:Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
