Special Education Teacher, Probationary 2024-2025Anticipated VacancyEastchester High School The Eastchester Union Free School District is looking for a dynamic NYS certified special educator to work in a full-time Special Class at the Eastchester High School for students who require consistent and individualized positive behavioral support structures. Potential candidates must possess a strong background in evidence-based, positive behavioral supports programming and specially-designed instruction, experience with transition skills training and activities. Candidates who are Licensed Behavior Analysts (LBA) or Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA) are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:Provide special education services to a high school special class program for students with disabilities up to age 21.Provide vocational and transitional education.Implement applied behavior analysis (ABA) and job coaching.Use augmentative communication to support students’ communication needs.Build functional academic skills.Develop behavioral supports and programming.Conduct functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention planning.Supervise and secure vocational training job sites Supervise paraprofessionals.Develop, manage, and implement the IEPObserve, evaluate, prepare, and maintain progress monitoring data/reports on studentsCollaborate, plan, and work in close cooperation with related service providers, consultants, and/or parentsRequirements:NYS certification as a special education teacher.Experience in vocational and transitional education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), job coaching, augmentative communication, functional academic skill building, behavioral supports and programming, functional behavioral assessment and behavior intervention planning.Candidates with certification or licensure as a Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA) or Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) are preferred.NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*Employment Terms:10 month, probationary positionSalary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule; $61,939 - $146,440, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. *Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
