Speech & Language Pathologist, Leave ReplacementStarting on or about March 2024Eastchester Middle SchoolThe Eastchester Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic speech and language pathologist for its Middle School to fill a leave replacement assignment. Responsibilities:Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities to identify communication disorders and determine individualized needs.Individualized Education Programs and Treatment Plans: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with speech and language disorders, tailored to their specific needs and goals. Implement, monitor and draft Individualized Education Plans (IEP) as they related to speech and language services and supports.Therapeutic Interventions: Provide speech and language therapy services to students through individual or group sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques and strategies for a wide-range of students with disabilities.Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document students' progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly, ensuring continuous improvement.Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success, including participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.Parent and Caregiver Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers, providing guidance and support to help them assist their children at home.Professional Development: Stay current with developments in the field of speech and language pathology through ongoing professional development and training.Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, including adherence to New York State license and certification requirements. Requirements:New York State certification as a Speech and Language Pathologist.Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and assessment tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.Dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.Passion for helping students achieve their communication goals.Experience working with students with low-incidence disabilities preferred.NYSED Fingerprint Clearance* Employment Terms:Salary range: $61,265 - $144,847 (prorated per diem at 1/200) Step placement contingent upon prior related experience. *Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law ยงยง305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES).
