1:2 classroom probationary School Monitor will work collaboratively to support teacher and students in a special education classroom. Hours: 8:05 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. (30 minute lunch) Salary: $17.45/hour Requirements:Ability to work effectively with elementary school age children;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position;Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff;Ability to take oral and written directives.New hires are subject to probationary appointment. Existing Monitors will receive their regular rate of pay plus an annual stipend of $500Prerequisite:Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
