Eastchester High School is seeking a probationary School Monitor. The successful candidate will monitor special education students (either 1:1 or in small group) and supporting students in the community with functional employment and job skills. Position includes escorting the students to and from various job sites within the community as well as community trips to local vendors/employment facilities to acquire job readiness skills and prepare special needs students for employment and more independent performance in community based programsHours: 7:15 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (40 minute lunch) Salary: $17.45/hour Requirements:Ability to work effectively with secondary school age children;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position;Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff;Ability to take oral and written directives.Prerequisite:Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
