Job Responsibilities: Lead the development, preparation, presentation, and administration of the District's annual operating budget. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the Superintendent and Board of Education to support sound fiscal decision-making. Monitor the District's financial position, revenues, expenditures, fund balance, reserves, and long-term financial planning. Ensure compliance with New York State Education Department requirements, applicable laws and regulations, Board policies, and generally accepted accounting principles. Oversee state aid, financial reporting, and required submissions to the New York State Education Department and other regulatory agencies. Supervise and oversee business office operations, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll, and financial reporting. Develop and maintain effective internal controls and financial procedures. Oversee purchasing practices, bidding, contracts, procurements, and compliance with applicable requirements. Provide leadership and oversight for the District's transportation, food service, facilities, buildings and grounds, and other business-related operations. Work collaboratively with the Superintendent and administrative team regarding capital projects, facilities planning, maintenance, and long-range operational needs. Oversee the District's insurance programs, risk management, employee benefits, and related financial and administrative matters. Manage and monitor District investments and cash management in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board policy. Provide oversight and guidance regarding civil service matters as they relate to business operations and District staffing. Work collaboratively with the Human Resources Department regarding payroll, employee benefits, compensation, and other matters involving the financial administration of personnel. Supervise, evaluate, and support business office and other assigned personnel. Prepare financial reports and analyses for the Superintendent and Board of Education and communicate financial information clearly to various stakeholders. Assist the Superintendent and Board of Education in collective bargaining and the financial analysis of labor agreements. Monitor the financial impact of staffing, programs, contracts, and district initiatives. Work with auditors and other external professionals and coordinate the District's annual audit and required financial reviews. Ensure accurate and timely completion of required financial, payroll, purchasing, and business-related reports. Assist in the development and implementation of long-term financial and operational plans that support the District's educational goals and priorities. Maintain effective relationships with vendors, consultants, governmental agencies, auditors, attorneys, financial advisors, and other District partners. Stay current with changes in New York State laws, regulations, reporting requirements, and best practices affecting school district business operations. Provide leadership in identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies, responsible resource allocation, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Salary commensurate with experience.*
