RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for all accounting functions including journal entries for all funds under district managementReviews for accuracy the general ledger, trial balances, revenue status, appropriation status reports and performs analysis, and account reconciliation of individual balance sheet and appropriation accountsPrepare financial reports and schedules as required by the Board of Education or by State and Federal agenciesPreparing monthly bank reconciliations and monthly treasurer report for the Board of EducationMaintain fixed asset accounting systemAssist with annual closing of the books of the DistrictPrepare cash flow analysis, quarterly federal and state reports, Grant expenditure reports, profit and loss statementPrepare Fund Balance Projection for the review of the Assistant Superintendent for BusinessManages all aspects of the district’s operating funds and cash balances, including receipt and reconciliation of funds from the federal, state, county and local governmentManage bank ACH payments, wire transfers, internal account transfers, monitoring and payment of the district’s long-term debt schedulesGather information for official statements relating to the issuance of debtInvest District fundsAssist with supervision of the extra classroom activity fundDistrict Liaison with auditors, including, but not limited to, internal, external and regulatory auditorsAttend all Audit Committee meetings, serving as taker of the minutesResponsible for monitoring and maintaining Capital Project accountingPrepare and complete required Federal and State Transparency Reporting for the review of the Assistant Superintendent for BusinessAssist in payroll transactions and payroll posting biweeklyOversees the work of an Account Clerk handling Deputy Treasurer responsibilitiesAssist with management of the day-to-day operations of the business officeAll other duties as directed by the Assistant Superintendent for Business REQUIREMENTS: Must have 3 years of government and/or school accounting experience, the ability to multitask and work independently. Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree and/or CPA preferred. Candidates should be experienced, organized, detail oriented and possess a strong knowledge of modern financial accounting, record keeping, as well as laws, policies, procedures, and regulations related to school district finances. Must take initiative in solving problems and completing projects in compliance with deadlines, changing laws, guidelines and auditor’s requirements. Familiarity with nVision and proficiency with Microsoft Products preferred. LOCATION: Business Office - District Office SALARY: $90,000 - $110,000 EXPECTED EFFECTIVE DATE: April 20, 2023
