VACANCY NOTICEJOB TITLE: DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENTTERMS OFEMPLOYMENT:• Full-time, 12-month• Competitive salary; negotiable based on qualifications and experience• Full complement of health and other related benefitsREPORTS TO: District SuperintendentLOCATION: Administration BuildingSUPERVISES: Departments: Communications, Educational Programs, Educational Resources, Regional Partnership Center, and Learning Technology (other programs as assigned).QUALIFICATIONS:• NYS certification as a School District Leader and Professional Teacher Certifications is required.• A minimum of ten years of successful experience in education including teaching, supervision, and administration required.• Preference will be given to candidates who have held district level posts in a BOCES or a K-12 public school district.GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Deputy Superintendent is a cabinet level position responsible for broad executive control of the systems, practices, policies and procedures of the Agency. The Deputy Superintendent promotes the Agency’s mission and supports the District Superintendent's efforts to ensure leadership for developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services. The Deputy Superintendent serves as the Chief Administrator’s designee at the request of or in the absence of the District Superintendent.• The Deputy Superintendent shall oversee the daily activities of the Agency Administrative Team and its programs for the effective and efficient operation of all campuses and offices.• Represent the BOCES with a strong, positive image. Advance the BOCES’ mission, objectives, programs, and services to off-campus community groups, business and industry, agencies, individuals, or other stakeholder groups.• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with component district leadership teams and community and state agencies.• Assist the District Superintendent in coordinating with local school superintendents and other school officials concerning BOCES programs and services.• Support the development of the Leadership Team through the facilitation of professional learning opportunities, regularly scheduled meetings and ongoing coaching.• Oversee the Annual Professional Performance Review Process for the agency and conduct evaluations.• Assist in the preparation of the BOCES budget, Annual Report and Agency Report Card.• Coordinate Agency Staff Development.• Participate in recruitment, hiring and mentoring of new members of the Administrative Team.• Lead the county in the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs, staff development programs, and curriculum development.• Provide leadership to the Educational Resources Advisory Council.• Maintain the quality of instruction in all BOCES student programs with an emphasis on pedagogy, curriculum, therapeutic practice, and improved student performance.• Respond to requests for information from the State Education Department.• Assist the District Superintendent in the continuous review and revision of strategic planning, operational goals and objectives, and efforts to measure progress toward their attainment.• Remain abreast of developments and innovations in the field and with NYSED.• Perform other duties as required.PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:• Presents a spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and multicultural awareness.• Carries out duties and responsibilities (both personal and professional) with honesty, credibility, and integrity, without close supervision and with little direction.• Demonstrates knowledge and good judgment in matters of agency policy and procedures.• Utilizes proper discretion in dealing with confidential matters.• Follows through to timely completion of assigned tasks.• Makes effective oral presentations before small and large groups of people.• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.• Familiar and knowledgeable about technology as it applies in educational and business settings.• Is adaptable when performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations.• Is able to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected circumstances.• Possesses a thorough knowledge of the New York State Education laws and regulations., New York State Education Department standards and initiatives; the bylaws of the New York State Board of Regents; and the policies of the BOCES Board of Trustees.START DATE: ImmediatelyCLOSING DATE: March 17, 2025______________________________________________________________________Please attach cover letter and resume and apply online at: https://olasjobs.org/dutchess-bocesEOE Ref# DCB 2270- 24/25
